Are Power Queen LiFePO4 Lithium batteries safe?
Yes. LiFePO4 is an intrinsically safe chemical and the most stable lithium-ion battery on the market. Power Queen lithium cells are UL certified, ensuring the highest safety and sustainability standards. All Power Queen LiFePO4 batteries include an internal Battery Management System that protects against undervoltage during discharge, overvoltage during charge, overcurrent during discharge, overheating during charge and discharge, and short-circuit protection, which protects battery cells from damage. Furthermore, Power Queen LiFePO4 Lithium batteries have been proved to be safe against fire and electric shock in tough settings.
Can I use Power Queen LiFePO4 Lithium batteries as starting batteries?
No. The Power Queen mini batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices. Read the article Deep Cycle vs. Starting Batteries for more details.
Can I charge Power Queen LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?
The Power Queen 12V 100Ah mini LiFePO4 batteries can charge securely at temperatures ranging from 0℃ to 50 ℃ (32℉ to 122 ℉). The 12V 100Ah Mini Smart has been improved with low-temperature cut-off protection, allowing the battery to be automatically cut-off while charging and discharging in low temperatures to protect battery life and performance.
How do I store Power Queen LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
It is best to store Power Queen LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries have been stored for an extended period of time, they should be recharged at least once every 3 months. Storage temperatures range from 10℃ to 35 ℃ and 50℉ to 95 ℉, with a relative humidity of 45% to 75%.
What is the difference between the Power Queen 12V 100Ah Mini Basic and 12V 100Ah Mini Smart?
Similarities: Both models have similar weight and dimensions, and each features a 100A BMS.
Differences: The Smart edition has more features than the Basic model:
Bluetooth 5.0: Allow customers to examine battery status, control the discharge switch, and monitor the battery system using a mobile app.
Low-Temperature Protection: If the temperature drops below 0°C/32°F, the battery will automatically cease charging to prevent harm. Charging will restart once the temperature rises over 5°C/41°F. When discharging, the battery automatically shuts off below -20°C/-4°F, assuring peak performance and longevity.
Advanced Power Queen Self-Developed BMS Board with Over 20 Protections: In addition to basic protections—Over-Charge, Over-Discharge, Over-Current, Short-Circuit, and Over-Temperature—the Smart version includes advanced protections such as Overload Protection with Self-Recovery (30s), Pre-Charging Function, Moisture Resistance, Salt-Spray Resistance, and Low-Temperature Cut-Off Protection.
What battery charger should I use for Power Queen 12V 100Ah Mini Low-temp Smart Deep Cycle Lithium Battery?
To optimum capacity, we recommend utilizing a 14.6V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery charger.
①Recommended charging voltage: 14.2V to 14.6V.
②Recommend charging current:
20A (0.2C): to fully charge the battery to 100% capacity in around 5 hours.
50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hours, reaching 97% capacity.
To avoid sparks, connect the charger to the battery first, then to the grid. Disconnect the charger from the battery once fully charged.
Can I use an alternator or generator to charge the LiFePO4 lithium battery?
Yes. To charge Power Queen batteries, utilize your alternator or generator. If your alternator or generator allows DC output, you'll need a DC-to-DC charger to connect the battery to the generator. If your alternator or generator supports AC output, you can maximize capacity by using a 14.6V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery charger.
